Egg puffs with home-made puff pastry
Make a soft dough with 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt and enough water. Take 1/5 th of a standard butter packet and slice it to cubes. Roll out the dough into a square and put butter cubes in side. Roll over the dough so as to cover the butter completely. Flatten the dough again. Fold it 2-3 times and roll again. Repeat one more time. Keep the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Boil 2 eggs. Saute 1/2 onion (thinly sliced), along with 1 tsp chopped ginger and garlic in oil. Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp red chilli powder. When the onion is done add 1 tsp finely chopped curry leaves and 1/2 tsp garam masala.Mix well. Slice the boiled egg in to 6 pieces and mix with onion masala. Take out the dough and roll into desired shapes and fill with the egg masala. Close the puff and seal the edges. Apply a thin coat of beaten egg on top of the puffs. Preheat the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.Serve hot.
